King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud

Born in Riyadh in 1920, and died there in 2005, may God have mercy on him.

His life in brief

  • He was educated at the School of princes in Riyadh and the Scientific Institute in Mecca in English.
  • Appointed interior minister and deputy prime minister in the reign of his brother, King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz.
  • Appointed crown prince in the reign of his brother, King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
  • Came to power in July 1982.

Meaningful and constructive achievements

  • Establishment of King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Medina.
  • Created the Ministry of Dawa (inviting people for Islam) and guidance for the deployment of the Islamic Dawa at home and abroad.
  • Created and Ministry of Civil Service.
  • Opened King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd Airport in Dammam.
  • Expanding and reconstruction of the Two Holy Mosques and Ka’aba.
  • Stating the modern Constitution of the Kingdom.
  • Expanding the roads.
  • Died and buried in Riyadh in August 2005.
